I photographed this Black-cheeked Woodpecker in Sarapiquí, Costa Rica, clinging to the side of a tree with his bill slightly open, that bright eye locked in, and the rainforest behind him turning into a smooth green blur. What I love about the image is the simplicity, no clutter, no chaos, just a beautiful tropical bird doing exactly what woodpeckers do best: working the tree, staying alert, and looking far more serious than his tiny size should legally allow.
Each note card is printed by hand in my Henniker studio on heavyweight Red River Linen cardstock, which gives the rich green of the rainforest and the gold, red, and black detail of the bird a soft textured surface that feels closer to a small art print than to ordinary stationery. The inside is blank for whatever you have to say. The Black-cheeked Woodpecker (Melanerpes pucherani) is a small tropical woodpecker found in humid forests, forest edges, and plantations from southern Mexico through Central America to northwestern South America. Males are recognized by the red patch on the lower forehead, the yellow crown, and the bold black cheek that gives the species its name. This photograph was taken in Sarapiquí, in Costa Rica's Heredia Province, a renowned birding region, making this a meaningful greeting card for birders, neotropical bird collectors, Costa Rica travelers, and anyone with a soft spot for small birds with big personality.

Each 5" x 7" folded A7 card is blank inside so you can write your own message for any occasion. The size also fits any standard 5x7 frame, so buyers can display the photograph as small wildlife wall art or give it as a keepsake gift.

Orders over $50 ship free within the United States, and orders under $50 ship for a flat rate of $5.95 via USPS Ground Advantage. Expedited USPS Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express options are available at checkout with rates calculated by the carrier.
Most card orders ship within 1 to 2 business days, with total delivery typically 4 to 6 business days from the time you buy. Each card arrives in a clear protective sleeve with a matching envelope, packed in a rigid mailer so it reaches you flat and crisp.
Returns
Returns
We want you to love your order. We accept returns within 30 days of delivery, as long as your card is in its original, undamaged condition and original packaging. You will need your order confirmation or proof of purchase to start a return.
Please email linda@lindaneephotography.com before sending anything back, since items returned without an approved request cannot be accepted. Once approved, ship the item to our New Hampshire studio using the address we provide. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
If your card arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact us within 30 days with clear photos and we will offer a replacement or full refund based on your preference. Damaged items do not need to be returned before we resolve your order.
