Notre-Dame Rose Window
This rose window inside Notre-Dame de Paris glows with centuries of stained glass, arranged in a radiating pattern around a central medallion. I photographed it from inside the cathedral on Île de la Cité, after its survival of the 2019 fire and restoration. This original photograph is available in a variety of formats, from wall art to gifts.
Deep blues, purples, reds, and gold fill each small pane, building outward into dozens of medallion scenes. The surrounding stone tracery holds the glass in place, dark against the glow, while the rest of the nave fades into quiet shadow.
