Lesser Violetear Hummingbird
This Lesser Violetear (Colibri cyanotus) perches on the tip of a rain-dotted leaf, its feathers catching the light in shades of emerald and blue. I photographed it at Savegre Hotel Natural Reserve in Costa Rica's Talamanca mountains, a cloud forest known for its hummingbirds. This original photograph is available in a variety of formats, from wall art to gifts.
A flash of violet shows at the throat, giving the species its name. Fresh raindrops sit on the broad leaf below, and soft green and gold tones blur into the background, keeping every bit of focus on the bird's iridescent color.

I photographed this Lesser Violetear at Savegre, where the cloud forest feels alive with color, mist, wings, and tiny birds that somehow look like flying gemstones with opinions. She perched on a broad green leaf after rain, emerald and violet feathers glowing, head tilted with that curious, almost defiant little personality.
Each fine art print is made to order in my Henniker studio on your choice of archival paper or dye-sublimated high-gloss aluminum, with sizes from 4x6 up to 24x30. Metal prints arrive ready to hang with Command strips. Paper prints arrive ready for framing in any standard frame.

Lesser Violetear Hummingbird Photography Note Card
This one was perched on a rain-dotted leaf at Savegre in Costa Rica, still and glowing, the kind of iridescent color that makes you check your camera settings because surely the bird cannot actually look like that. The wildlife note card for the hummingbird lover who has seen everything β except this.
The Lesser Violetear (Colibri cyanotus) is a brilliantly iridescent hummingbird of Costa Rica's highland cloud forests. I photographed this one at Savegre Hotel Natural Reserve, perched on a rain-dotted leaf, its emerald, turquoise, blue, and violet feathers glowing against a soft green background. It knew exactly how beautiful it was and had no plans to be humble about it.
Quiet perched moments are rare with hummingbirds, which makes this original tropical bird photography note card feel like a small gift in itself. Printed on premium Red River linen cardstock, blank inside for a handwritten note, and comes with a matching envelope β the kind of colorful wildlife stationery worth keeping.

Lesser Violetear Close-Up Desk Mat
This close-up Lesser Violetear desk mat trades a slippery, undersized pad for one steady surface built to handle daily keyboard and mouse use.
Fluffed against the rain and looking mildly unimpressed by the weather, this Lesser Violetear, Colibri cyanotus, pauses on a dew streaked leaf in Costa Rica, its emerald and violet feathers catching light even in an overcast moment.
A pad that curls at the edges after a few weeks, or slides every time you reach for the mouse, ends up doing more harm than good. This one stays flat under regular use and grips the desk through normal daily movement, sized at 24 by 16 inches so the keyboard and mouse share one continuous surface instead of two mismatched pieces. Color goes into the fabric itself during printing, which is why it resists fading in a way a surface printed pad typically can't.

Lesser Violetear Hummingbird Mouse Pad
Most hummingbirds act like they've had six espressos. This one decided the rain was somebody else's problem, and now that same calm judgment sits on your mouse pad.
The Lesser Violetear (Colibri cyanotus) is a mountain hummingbird found in Costa Rica's cloud forests, photographed here fluffed up on a rain speckled leaf, its iridescent green and violet cheek patch catching the light. It looked like the rain had simply become somebody else's problem.
That quiet, close up moment holds its detail at 9.25 by 7.75 inches of smooth polyester with a quarter inch rubber base, sized for a laptop desk or a small office corner. I photographed this hummingbird myself in the field, not a design template or a stock archive.
