Great Green Macaw in Costa Rica
The Great Green Macaw (Ara ambiguus) is one of the rarest birds in Costa Rica. I photographed this one in Manzanillo, Limon Province. Fewer than 200 remain in the country, making every sighting extraordinary. I am very fortunate to have been there with a camera. This original photograph is available in a variety of formats, from wall art to gifts.
The bird perches on a dark, textured branch that cuts diagonally across the frame, its vivid lime-green plumage and blue wing feathers catching the light against a soft, out-of-focus green canopy. The russet tail trails below, and that distinctive pink and red face turns just enough to hold your attention. Portrait orientation, saturated color, pure presence.

Great Green Macaw Photography Note Card
A meaningful note card for parrot fans, Costa Rica travelers, and conservation-minded friends β an original photograph of a wild Great Green Macaw, one of the world's most endangered parrots, captured in the rainforests of LimΓ³n Province.
I photographed this wild Great Green Macaw in the Punta Uva area of LimΓ³n, Costa Rica, where rainforest habitat still supports this critically endangered species. The electric green body, blue wing feathers, and long red tail glowed against the trees, but it was the presence that stayed with me. Macaws are not subtle birds.
Each note card is printed in my Henniker studio on heavyweight Red River Linen cardstock, holding the bright tropical color and rainforest light of the original photograph. The inside is blank for your own words, and every order arrives flat in a rigid mailer with a matching envelope and protective sleeve included. A meaningful greeting card for parrot fans, Costa Rica travelers, and anyone who cares about rainforest conservation.

Great Green Macaw Desk Mat
This Great Green Macaw desk mat gives your workspace a durable, non-slip surface with bold tropical color, solving the plain-desk problem in one piece.
Saturated lime green feathers, a flash of blue on the wings, and a bright red forehead patch, this Great Green Macaw, Ara ambiguus, perches on a mossy branch in Costa Rica, a color combination bold enough to look almost unreal.
Sized at 24 by 16 inches, this desk mat gives a full keyboard and mouse one continuous surface instead of two small pads that drift out of place. A non slip rubber backing keeps it anchored through fast typing and quick mouse movements, while the smooth polyester top supports accurate optical and laser tracking. Made to order in my New Hampshire studio with fade resistant color, it holds up to daily use without curling or fading.
Great Green Macaw Photo Mouse Pad
Beige desk accessories exist to disappear into the background, and most mouse pads do exactly that. This Great Green Macaw doesn't, its lime green feathers and blood red forehead make sure of it every time you reach for the mouse.
The Great Green Macaw (Ara ambiguus) is one of Central America's largest parrots. I photographed this one perched on a mossy branch in Costa Rica's lowland forest, its lime green feathers, blue wings, red forehead, and pale facial skin looking almost too vivid to be real.
At 9.25 by 7.75 inches, it fits next to a laptop keyboard or in a tight home office corner without taking over the whole desk. A quarter inch non slip rubber base keeps it anchored, and the polyester top stays smooth under daily mouse use. My own photograph, never stock.
