My original photograph captures a black bear mid-catch on an Alaska river, salmon clamped in its jaws and water still dripping from the fish. This is the raw, unstaged version of wildlife you wait days for and try very hard not to mess up when it finally happens, the bear focused, powerful, and completely locked onto the salmon run.
The folded card measures 5 x 7 inches on heavyweight Red River Linen cardstock, with the photograph filling the entire front and the inside left clean for your own words. Archival inks hold the deep blacks of the fur and the silver flash of the salmon, and a matching envelope and protective sleeve come with every order. Hand-finished in our small New Hampshire studio, this is the kind of bear card a fisherman, an Alaska traveler, or an outdoor friend will actually keep.
About this Card
About this Card
This black bear greeting card is built for impact. The photograph fills the front of the card edge to edge without any overlaid text, so the bear and the salmon are the whole experience, which is why many buyers stand the card on a shelf, frame it, or pin it inside a cabin or office once they have read the message.
It is printed as a fine art note card on heavyweight linen-textured cardstock, with archival inks chosen to hold the bear's deep black fur against the cool tones of the river water without flattening the contrast. A matching envelope and a clear protective sleeve are included with every order, so the card arrives in perfect shape whether it travels by mail or inside a gift basket.
Black bears are skilled, opportunistic feeders, and during salmon season they gather along Alaska's rivers and streams to feed on spawning fish, building the fat reserves they need for winter. That seasonal feeding behavior makes a real, unstaged moment like this a powerful pick for bear lovers, wildlife photographers, fishermen, and anyone with Alaska in their heart.
